Nano Solution

Overview

Nano SolutionNanoSolution offers high-speed nanoscale proteomic analysis, the missing link in post-genome research, using a direct nanoflow HPLC system with the world's highest throughput. NanoSolution also provides proteomics consultation services for large-scale analyses of protein expression patterns and protein interactions. The NanoSolution direct nanoflow HPLC system has been installed with high acclaim at a major Japanese pharmaceutical company and in research institutes and national universities. As a member of the SNBL group (http://www.snbl.com/), Japan's leading CRO, NanoSolution is ready to provide high-quality supplementary services, and is currently in discussions with a number of pharmaceutical companies and venture enterprises.

Technology

The NanoSolution approach to proteomics analysis is based on technology invented by Professor Toshiaki Isobe of Tokyo Metropolitan University, Professor Nobuhiro Takahashi of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, and Dr. Tohru Natsume, the Senior Research Scientist at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology.

  • Direct Nanoflow HPLC system
Ideal proteomics research conditions are now a reality. An online LC analysis system equipped with a linear gradient pump (ReNCon) and an ultrafine column, enables flow rates in nl/min.

This system has three distinct advantages:
    *Microsamples
Existing methods require cultures of cells in liter units. However, with this technique, analysis is possible using milliliter volumes prepared from cells collected directly from the microtiter dish.
    *Comprehensive Analysis
This technology makes possible the identification of membrane proteins, glycoproteins, and low molecular weight proteins, none of which is achievable with existing methods.
    *High Throughput
Analyses that require months with existing technologies can now be completed in a matter of days.
  • 2DLC separation system
A multi-dimensional LC column connection enables the comprehensive identification of over 1000 cellular proteins in a matter of days.
  • Bioinformatics
Typical protein output data from HPLC and MS systems contains a large amount of non-specific information, and the greatest challenge lies in the efficient extraction of useful data. NanoSolution has developed proprietary software that provides essential annotation for functional analysis, simplifying the identification of specific proteins.

Service

  • Proteome profiling
The first step in protein analysis is to identify target cells and comprehensively examine and identify their protein content and kinetic profile. NanoSolution can respond to client needs by providing high-precision and comprehensive profiling of cell proteins using its proprietary direct nanoflow HPLC and 2DLC systems. Using this technology, identification of proteins (e.g., membrane proteins) that have not been found by conventional gel-based analysis is possible. Thus, NanoSolution provides efficient methods for discovering new target proteins.
  • Interactomics
The examination of target protein-protein interactions accelerates the collection of basic information for discovering new target proteins, and for analyzing cellular signal transduction systems and functions. NanoSolution can express target proteins in cells of interest, using cDNA provided by the client. After pull-down, interacted proteins can be identified by direct nanoflow HPLC. Data from some proteomics laboratories are confounded by environmental contaminants such as dust, but NanoSolution offers uncontaminated proteomics results derived in a clean booth from a know-how-based protocol.
